National Awards: Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival

UPDATE: Ryan Brazil’s sound design for Machinal was selected by KCACTF to represent the nation at the 2015 Prague Quadrennial.

SHSU received five KCACTF national awards for its production of Sophie Treadwell’s Machinal:

  1. Shanae’a Moore: Distinguished Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role
  2. Ryan Brazil: Distinguished Sound Design
  3. Connor Toups and Liz Freese: Special Achievement in Film and Projection Design
  4. Eric Marsh: Distinguished Lighting Design
  5. David McTier: Distinguished Director of a Play

Machinal at the KCACTF Region 6 Festival

Machinal performed at the KCACTF Region 6 Festival in San Angelo on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Ryan Brazil’s sound design for Machinal won the region competition, and he will compete at the National Festival in DC this April! In Allied Design and Technologies, Meritorious Achievement Awards were given to Jenn Sullivan for her makeup design and Peter Ton for his poster design.
